Marj Peterson, PCAM, CCAM is the CEO of Creative Transitions & Consulting

Marjorie (Marj) Peterson holds the PCAM and CCAM designations and is a nationally recognized expert in the field of community association development, transition, operations and management. She has 6 years of experience in HOA and RCFE retirement communities and held a RCFE license in California. Marj started her work as the management industry in Minnesota and in 1972 working for a management company and developer. In 1981, Marj created one of the first companies in the country to specialize in the transition of community associations. Creative Transitions, Inc. grew from a consulting firm to a management and maintenance firm providing services to hundreds of HOAs during the companies almost nine years in Minnesota. marjpg
Following the sale of the Creative Companies in 1989, Marj moved to Florida and held the position of On-site Manager for a multi-association property of over 2,000 units and the position of Executive Vice President/CEO for a contract management firm servicing over 4,500 units in 23 associations.

Ms. Peterson's commitment has extended beyond the reaches of her various business responsibilities. She has been involved in volunteer work in the industry for more than three decades. Marj received her PCAM as the first woman in the country and amongst the first 17 designees. She has taught for CAI extensively and as the National President of CAI in 1987-88, she traveled and spoke throughout the country on homeowner association issues. Currently Marj is on the faculty for CACM and teaches for CAI-San Diego and Minnesota Chapters.

Marj was recognized by the Community Associations Institute with the coveted Byron Hanke Award for lifetime achievement and contributions in the field of community associations.
